It is common knowledge now that droughts, floods, famines, epidemics, pollution, etc., are all man made disasters! And, the consequences of deforestation in its entirety! Deforestation means cutting of any tree and stripping of natural vegetation anywhere and everywhere, and not just the forests per se. An apt example is the looming water famine in Dehradun. Unfortunately, deforestation even in the Reserved Forests of the sanctum sanctorum of Sylvan Ideology: the world famous Forest Research Institute located in the FRI estate is being done with impunity. FRI--the sacrosanct and pristine Foresters' TEMPLE of yesteryears is becoming uglier by the day due to deforestation and ego-based concretisation.
