The special task forces of Tamil Nadu and Karnataka will launch their joint hunt for forest brigand Veerappan, who is hiding in the forests of the Western Ghats, "very soon," Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Jayalalitha said in Chennai. Ms Jayalalitha had requested her Karnataka counterpart, Mr S.M. Krishna, to accept DGP Walter I. Dawaran (Retd.) as the chief of the joint STF of both the States.
