A recent survey conducted in the Capital to gauge consumer awarness and perception about the ban on sale of loose 2T oil revealed 38 per cent, that is 6.4 lakh vehicle owners of 2-stroke vehicles, were not aware of the ban and 12.4 per cent continue to use loose 2T oil. According to a Supreme Court ruling, effective from January 1, 1999, sale of loose 2T oil at petrol stations and fuel garages were to be banned. Further, the use of petrol mixed with 2T lubricants, called 'premixed' petrol had been made mandatory in Delhi.
