Intensifying strict pollution control norms, the state transport (ST) commissionerate on Wednesday announced that all vehicles driven without a valid Pollution Under Control (PUC) certificate will be denied fuel at the petrol pumps from October 15, 1999. The second phase of the campaign will target the extended Mumbai suburbs and will commence at a later date.
