With the Directorate of Vigilance of Delhi Government seeking a copy of the report submitted by Delhi Government's Petitions Committee on the alleged scam in desilting of drains, the Delhi Legislative Assembly Secretariat has forwarded the relevant documents for further action in the matter. The Petitions Committee, chaired by MLA S.C. Vats, had in its report on desilting of drains in Delhi looked into the representation of the NGO Chetna to it under Rule 204 of the Rules of Procedure of the Delhi Assembly. Dr. Vats expressed happiness at the Vigilance probe and hoped it would bring to an end the loss of precious public money in the name of desilting.
