The Vile Parle police on Sunday evening busted a milk adulteration racket operating in the area, and arrested 9 persons involved in the racket. According to the police, the arrested accused have been identified as Sailinga Golya (26), Naresh Jaala (18), Ramlinga Mukamla (28), Narsinha Yadav (21), Ramesh Samaya (25), Mahesh Yadav (25), Saidu Girupotra (20), Naresh Pagera (23) and a 17-year-old. "We received specific information that a milk adulteration racket was operating at Ganesh Chawl at Mahatma Kabeer Nagar on Andheri Sahar Road, and accordingly we raided the area. We arrested nine accused from room no 980 in the chawl. They were removing milk from packets of several milk brands and were then adulterating it,' said senior police inspector, M Naik, of the Vile Parle police station. "We recovered 148 packets of adulterated milk, 133 empty milk packets of several companies in the raid, as well as aluminium rods and tools used in the adulteration process,' Naik added.
