The residents of Parsodi village in Nagpur district stand to lose more than just their homes to the Gosikhurd Dam on the Wainganga river. According to the Gological Survey of India (GSI), the Gosikhurd backwaters will submerge much of the area's gold deposits worth over Rs 200 core.
