Water has transformed another village to an oasis of plenty amid the ravages of drought in Rajasthan. This otherwise nondescript village on the Jaipur-Delhi National Highway, about 30 km from Jaipur is slowly becoming a place of reconnoiter for planners and social activists after the revolution that has taken place in Neembi. Neembi's transformation, according to Mr. Rajendra Singh, general secretary of TBS, started in 1994-95 when the villagers joined hands with the conservation NGO to contribute one-fourth of the Rs. 2 lakhs spent on rebuilding the Bheedwala bandh.
