Villagers, especially women, are participating in a big way in various afforestation and reforestation programmes in Himachal Pradesh these days. A beautiful forest raised in seven hectares of land by the women belonging to Gram Van Vikas Samiti in Balag area of Theog forest division in Shimla has become a talk of the area and an example of active people's participation in environment development.
