Villagers of Salugoppalu organised a protest in front of the Office of the Assistant Executive Engineer (AEE) of Harangi Irrigation Project on Saturday demanding rehabilitation of villagers, in the wake of overflow of flood water from Harangi channel near Shirangala in their village. The protest was organised under the leadership of Grama Hitharakshana Vedike convenor Shrikanth and Zilla Panchayat member H S Ashok. Villagers complained that several houses in low-lying areas in the village are on verge of collapse due to the gushing of water from the channel. Srikanth demanded that officials including AEE Kalegowda should visit village and provide rehabilitation facilities to those villagers who are facing the problem.
