Villages connected to metalled roads

A newly created network of 11,187 km of metalled roads built under the Pradhan Mantri Gramin Sadak Yojna (Prime Minister's rural road scheme) now connects 1,922 villages with over one thousand population in Madhya Pradesh. A total of 2,503 roads with a 12,221-km length are to be constructed in four phases under the ambitious PMGSY in the State. In all, 3,704 villages with over one thousand population would benefit from these roads that are to be constructed at a cost of Rs. 2089 crore.
