The Ministry of Urban Affairs and Employment has brought out a vulnerability Atlas of India based on the recommendations of an Expert group chaired by Dr. A.S. Arya, an eminent expert on earthquakes. The atlas is intended to provide precautionary, preventive, protective and curative measures for safety of houses and infrastructure against the fury of natural calamities like earthquakes, floods and cyclones.
