West Godavari district has achieved the rare distinction of one of the three districts in the country for making rapid progress in the implementation of the total literacy programme at a very low per capita expenditure of just Rs 8.In connection with the world literacy day celebrations on September 8, Prime Minister Atal Behari Vajpayee will present award to West Godavari district.
