Wabag Wins Egypt Orders for Drinking Water From Nile River

The Wabag (VATW) Group won two contracts to provide drinking water from the Nile river to 800,000 people in Egypt. The group will build water-treatment plants in the cities of Suez and Port to produce a combined 155,000 cubic meters a day of clean drinking water, according to a statement on the group’s website. The orders worth 13 million euros ($18 million) are from the state-owned Suez Canal Authority, according to the statement. The Suez plant will have have a capacity of 75,000 cubic meters per day, according to the statement. The El Raswa project in Port Said will have a capacity to produce 80,000 cubic meters of drinking water daily and is scheduled to start in the spring of 2017.
