The environment ministry is hosting in New Delhi the launch meeting on a thematic programme network on agro-forestry and soil conservation in arid, semi-arid and dry sub-humid areas. Its framework was suggested by the UN Convention to Combat Desertificication (UNCTAD). The meeting which began in Delhi, is being attended by international agencies and 12 Asian countries.
