Waste management campaign in public domain

Taking the anti-dumping and garbage management campaign in Shimla to the public domain, the Government today involved Municipal Councillors and the Mayor of Shimla Municipal Corporation to tackle the problem at local level. In a first of its kind meeting organised by the Department of Environment, Science and Technology, senior government officials discussed the environmental issues of garbage and muck management. During the meeting, Forest and Environment Minister J.P. Nadda, emphasised the need for having micro-level plans for solid waste management in Shimla.
