The centrally sponsored scheme of integrated wastelands development project, has been implemented to develop non forest wastelands on village/microwatershed basis, according to a spokesman for the Punjab Rural Development Department, the scheme helps generate employment in rural areas besides enhancing people's participation in wasteland development.
