Water at Tarbela dam reaches dead level

The water level of country's major reservoir- Tarbela dam on Tuesday reached the dead level of 1369 feet. According to Indus River System Authority (Irsa), water inflow at the dam was recorded at 19,500 cusecs while outflow was 22,800 cusecs. The water level at Mangla dam was recorded at 1045.10 feet, which was five feet higher than the dead level of 1040 feet. Water inflow at the dam was recorded at 28,246 cusecs while outflow was 23,000 cusecs. The contribution of Kabul and Chenab was recorded at 15,100 cusecs and 13,638 cusecs, respectively. The authority on Tuesday discharged 74,538 cusecs water from various rim stations while the inflow was 76,484 cusecs. Copyright Associated Press of Pakistan, 2008
