Rejection of Sindh government's plea to halt RBOD project deplored: The Society for Conservation and Protection of Environment (Scope) has regretted rejection of Sindh Governor's plea to halt controversial part, Indus Link of Right Bank Outfall Drain (RBOD) project. In a statement local environmentalist feared that lack of understanding on part of policy-makers regarding the issue may cause serious contamination in Indus water down Kotri Barrage."The water contaminated by toxic effluents of RBOD will be consumed for drinking and irrigation purposes by population of Karachi, Hyderabad, Thatta and Badin districts," experts claimed mentioning that the contaminated water will also jeopardise coastal ecosystem and wildlife around the Indus.
