Water shortage in Pakistan has reached an alarming 35 percent and the crisis could affect crops of the Rabi season that just began. Sources familiar with the developments told Daily Times the government had called a top-level meeting of the provincial irrigation ministers, members of the National Assembly standing subcommittee on water and power, and the Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) chairman to review the situation.
