The office of the Water Board was flooded with complaints regarding the tariff hike and the poor quality of water, during the Prajavani programme held in the main office at Khairatabad on Monday. During the two-hour programme, around 70 grievances were collected, a majority of which were regarding the tariff hike. Consumers complained that they were not aware of the increase in tariff and were shocked on receiving such huge bills. Managing director of HMWSSB Mr Adhar Sinha, enquired about the number and nature of complaints, and reviewed the status of those raised in the previous week. He instructed the general managers to give top priority to complaints raised in the Prajavani regarding tariff issues. Mr Sinha instructed the general managers to expedite issuing of bills on CANs generated, bills on revised tariff, conversion from domestic to commercial tariff, and issuing of boring slips to new connections. Mr Sinha also reviewed the 100 days Action Plan. He instructed concerned officials to complete the sanctioned work immediately and stick to a time schedule for the cleaning of sewers by air-tech machines, undertake water safety plan and attend to water pollution cases. He stressed the need to maintain proper pressure and water supply timings. He said the concerned officials must co-ordinate with APCPDCL authorities to ensure that power cuts do not affect water supply.
