Even as the city is situated in an ideal location with the mighty Brahmaputra flowing by it and an enviable reservoir of ground water beneath it, Guwahati, the lone B-2 city of the NE Region and the capital of Assam is today not in a position to supply its over one million people the required 150 Million Litre of water Per day (MLD).
