The Central Government has lauded the success achieved by Madhya Pradesh Government in the field of watershed development. In a letter to State Government, Mr S B Mahapatra, Additional Secretary in the Union Ministery of Rural Area and Employment has described the strategy adopted by Madhya Pradesh Government under Rajiv Gandhi Watershed Development Mission as very successful.
