A controversial proposal to 'redevelop' Mumbai block by block is one of the key features of the Bombay First-McKinsey report aimed at making Mumbai a world-class city. The report was presented to chief minister Sushil Kumar Shinde. Under the redevelopment plan, entire city blocks would be demolished and rebuilt with additional FSI, wider roads, state-of-the-art infrastructure and open green spaces.
