WB team salutes MP’s women

The super-vision mission team of World Bank, with the help of District Poverty Initiatives Project, appreciated the self-confidence, vision and awareness of rural women trying to earn their livelihood. Through innovative initiative of the project, team members spread awareness about the solar energy lantern and mobile charging stations among the rural people. The establishment of solar energy lantern and mobile charging stations is being done through regeneration committee set up for villages. The establishment of the solar energy lantern and mobile charging stations in 47 villages of Rajgarh district were done through The Energy and Resource Institute. MP of Rajgarh district Narayan Singh gave Rs 18.80 lakh from the MP’s fund for the establishment. Similarly, mobile charging stations are established in 66 villages of Guna district as well. Under the guidance of task leader Kevin Crockford the mission team members of World Bank visited the project sites of Rajgarh and Guna district on Monday, The team members visited Khajuria of Rajgarh district and Singapura of Guna district and came across the members of village committees formed for the empowerment of women. The women of the committee, informed the team members about their livelihood, loan returns, participation in the meetings of Gram Sabha and other plans launched by the Government. The team members spread awareness about the establishment and usage of smoke-free stoves in Moya village, Rajgargh district. More than 100 women are using smoke-free stoves in the village. The president of village committee Shanti Bai said that with the usage of these stoves the houses remain clean and well-maintained. Team members of World Bank visited Khatkiya village of Guna district. During the visit task team leader Kevin Crockford, Vinsten, Priti Kumar, Samik Das and other members were present.
