The World Bank has started "reviewing and updating" the Rs 1,300-crore Andhra Pradesh Urban Reforms and Municipal Services project. APURMS had been undertaken jointly by the World Bank and the state government but has not been implemented in real earnest. The re-evaluation was necessitated as four years have elapsed since the project was first conceived. "This review is likely to be completed in a few months," said the World Bank senior infrastructure specialist, Mr Raghu Kesavan, while talking to this correspondent. The seven-year project has been in limbo for the last four years with the state government hesitating to sign an agreement to get a financial assistance of Rs 1,300 crore from the World Bank.
