Nepal has currently embarked on an experiment on rural water supply with two clear guiding philosphies. They are propounded by two funding giants - World Bank and ADB. Both are receiving applaud and criticisms though from different agencies. One line adopted by the Asian Development Bank, ADB, supplies funds for rural water supply through the line agency, Nepal Water Supply Department. Projects under this are running in three western regions.
