- Winged guest to be shifted to Birsa zoo after freak fall Travel plans in store Jamshedpur, April 17: The guest found in a hamlet of Seraikela will soon call the Birsa Munda Zoological Park in the state capital its home. The white-breasted stork, that was found in Hanumanbera, will be kept at the bird enclosure of the zoo. Sources in the state forest department said the decision was taken following directives from the chief wildlife warden, A.K. Singh, today to send the stork to a zoo. At present, the winged creature is kept at the range office of Seraikela. Sources added that before taking the decision of shifting the stork to the Ranchi zoo, the wildlife experts had tried to make it fly. But each time the bird plummeted. After repeated attempts, they consulted Singh and finally decided to make place for the stork in Ranchi zoo only. A.T. Mishra, the divisional forest officer (DFO) of Seraikela, said the stork now looks quite healthy. Arrangements are being made to shift the bird in a day or two.
