Why victimize Safas ?

The treatment meted out to battery-operated Safa tempos in Kathmandu despite their increasing popularity is to be deplored. Apparently, operators of these eco-friendly three wheelers are being harassed by operators of Vikram tempos who are chasing them off the streets. Granted that the Prime Minister's office (PMO) has nudged the Department of Transport Management (DoTM) to resolve the issue, but the concerned authorities have yet to do what they should be doing in the interest of the environment. In other words, they have yet to take the bold step of banning the notorious Vikram tempos altogether. (editorial)
