The mineral projects proposed to come up in Kutch district of Gujarat are stuck as they are yet to get wildlife sanctuary clearances. The lignite, bauxite, bentonite and china clay deposits prospected by the department have not been acquired for mineral concession due to this constraint, according to Gujarat's additional director of geology and mining , J V Bhatt.
