For the first time in the history of forest conservation, women who live in the fringe areas of Periyar Tiger Reserve (PTR) in Thekkady, Kerala, have rendered their service without anything in return. The women, mostly married and having children, come out of their own by taking account the importance and need for conservation and protection of the forest.
