The number of palm trees in the Brendra area is gradually decreasing due to rampant felling. Once palm trees were found abundantly in the Barendra area, but now these are on the decrease. The wood of palm trees is strong and it is used for beams and rafters in kutcha and pucca houses. It is also used to make the wheels of bullock carts. With the growth of population the use of palm trees is also on the increase for making houses or other purposes.
