Implementation of the much delayed Delhi Mass Rapid Transit System (MRTS) project has reached an advanced stage, with three tenders for construction workd on the project scheduled to be opened early next week. This is the first concrete step towards starting construction work on the project, for which surveys and studies have been going on for nearly a decade. The Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC), which is implementing the project, hipes to finalise the tenders within a month and the actual construction work is likely to start in September.
