Centre has approved working plan of Karnataka State Forest department for seven divisions. These plans will be in force for the next ten years. There are totally 37 forest divisions in the State. The Centre is likely to approve the working plan for another ten divisions in a month's time. The State is yet to prepare working plan for six divisions. The plans project the department's programmes to protect and cultivate trees besides explaining the trees besides explaining the trees to be felled for timber purpose and fire protection measures.
