Kolar, DHNS: Much awaited Yaragol project works would soon be launched and the process is on to call tenders for the Rs 240 crore worth project that would end drinking water crisis in three taluks of Kolar district. After assuming charge as chairman of Karnataka Urban Water Supply and Sewerage Board in Bangalore on Wednesday R Varthur Prakash said, efforts are on to provide permanent solution to water crisis within two years. Various projects would be taken up to address acute shortage of water in various places after considering the budgetary allocation for the same. He also said a meeting will be held with the Managing Director of the Board on Yaragol project that would end water woes in Bangarpet, Malur and Kolar taluks. "While extending support to the BJP government, I had demanded the Chief Minister that the arrangements should be made to provide permanent solution to water crisis in the Kolar constituency. Accordingly I'm allotted the chairmanship of the Water Supply Board,' he said. He further added that his priority was to provide drinking water to his constituency. Ministers S N Krishnaiah Shetty, Golihatti Shekhar, Legislator G K Venkatashivareddy were present. Prakash's mother Parvathamma, wife Shamala and sister Sudha also took part during the worship held while Prakash assuming charge. MD K H Gopal, officers Ramakrishna, Ramakrishna, Rangadhamaiah and Ashokkumar were also present.
