The construction works of No 2 Tihu Bhumuk Joranadi bund with funds, worth Rs 4.80 lakh under Hariyali scheme at Baska Development Block in Baksa district was inaugurated by Moon Singh Brahma, MCLA, No 23 Dihira constituency recently. The MCLA called upon the members of Subanshri Micro Water Shed Committee-VII to ensure speedy and proper implementation of the scheme. Later, an awareness meeting on Hariyali and N'REGA was held at Bhabanipur B Block LP School under the chairmanship of Girin Boro, a social activist where Bhabani Prasad Sarma, BDO, Baska Development Block explained the pros and cons of Hariyali and N'REGA. It may be mentioned here that under other MWS committees, works worth Rs 20 lakh out of total allotted amount of Rs 36 lakh for implementation of the Hariyali project, 2006-07 under Baska Development Block is in progress at present. Rs 7.40 lakh has been sanctioned to Ambari MWS-I for construction of fishery tank at Charanbil, Rs 5 lakh has been sanctioned to Chaibari MWS-II for protection of erosion at Dhanbil, Rs 5 lakh has been sanctioned to Chaibari MWS-III for construction of bund at Brahmapur Chaibari, Rs 5 lakh to Chaibari MWS-IV for construction of Dharmapur RCC bund at Panbari, Rs 4 lakh to Dhanshri MWS-V for horticulture at Madhupur-Arnibil and Rs 4.80 lakh has been sanctioned to Narayanpur MWS-VI for erosion protection drop bund at Narayanpur, official sources maintained.
