Workshop on eco-tourism today

The Madhya Pradesh Eco-Tourism Development Board will organise a workshop at the conference room of Forest Rest House from Monday.
At the workshop, discussions will be held on providing regular livelihood to local rural craftsmen and making market available to them at eco-tourism and forest tourist destinations.
The workshop will be attended by the office-bearers of Madhya Pradesh Handicraft Development Corporation, NID Ahmedabad, NGOs and forest committees, lodge/resort managers and officers of theForest Department. Various products are crafted by local craftsmen from the material available in forests and rural areas of Madhya Pradesh.
Rajgarh's jute craft, papier mache masks prepared by self-help groups of Delawadi, bamboo craft of Shahdol and Balaghat, carpets of Gwalior and Jhabua, terracotta of Jhabua and Rajgarh, metal craft of south Madhya Pradesh, woodcraft of Budhni and Sheopur, and stone carving of Orchha and Khajuraho are examples of some of such craft, which can be provided market at tourists destinations.
Deliberations will also be made at the workshop in connection with promoting local arts and craft, making available regular sources of livelihood to craftsmen and establishing a sales network for their products.
