A workshop-cum-training programme on Forect (Conservation) Act for the officials of Border Roads Organization was organised recently at HQ 47 BRTF (GREF) to sensitize and educate the participants on preparations of the proposals for Forest/Environmental clearances for development of border roads. Altogether 27 BRO officers and 29 supervisory personnel attended the seminar in which the senior officers AK Singh, Director (BRDB) New Delhi, Col Lobzang Neema, Director, TP Central of HQ DGBR, New Delhi, BS Pandey, SE (C), Director (Estg) Project Setuk and Narendra Prasad, SE (C), Commander 47 BRTF were present. The seminar was aimed to facilitate the road development programme by BRO in order to provide connectivity to far flung areas of Northeast in view of obtaining forest clearance approval. The seminar started with formal inauguration followed by inaugural speech by AK Singh, Narendra Prasad, SE (C), Commander 47 BRTF welcomed all participants and Officers of Forest Deptt of all Northeast states. Col Lobzang Neema, presented the problems in details being faced by BRO in obtaining the forest clearance from Ministry of Forest & Environment for BRO projects. BRO has identified the senior level GREF official to interact with state nodal officers to remove the bottlenecks and interact regularly to expedite the proposals. The seminar was very educating and useful for BRO officials for dealing the forest clearance matter effectively. The interaction were benefiting for state officials and user agency.
