The National Academy of Customs, Excise & Narcotics (NACEN), in close co-ordination with the Ozone Cell of the Ministry of Environment and Forests, is organising a three-day national workshop in Darjeeling from December 1 to sensitise customs and other law enforcement officers around the country on ODS (ozone depleting substances) phase-out. Among the topics to be covered was the Montreal Protocol and the status of implementation in India, and the institutional mechanism associated with implementation of the protocol. India is a signatory to the Protocol on phasing out ODS.
