Workshop on solar water heating systems

The Goa Energy Development Agency (GEDA) Saligao, will be holding the Major State Level Workshop on Accelerated Promotion of Solar water Heating Systems in Domestic, Industrial and Commercial Sectors by Sensitization of Banks/Financial Institutions and other State holders at 10 am on May 21, 2008 which will be inaugurated by Chief Minister of Goa, Digambar Kamat in the distinguished presence of Chief Secretary/Chairman (GEDA) and Secretary (Non Conventional Energy Sources). The objective of the Workshop is to sensitise banks, other Financial Institutions. Manufacturers/Suppliers of Renewable Energy devices, concerned Government authorities and the general public about the importance and viability of financing popular "Renewable/New' energy devices, in general and Solar Water Heating System (SWHS) in particular. The SWHS have a tremendous potential to save conventional electrical energy, which is heavily drawn by electric water heaters, China is in the forefront for maximizing savings in conventional electrical power by using SWHS on a large scale, and India has a vast potential to do the same with adequate support of financial institutions and Banks. The Workshop will be addressed by experts from the central Ministry resource persons from GEDA, Manufacturers/users of SWHS and bank managers.
