The Calcutta Municipal Corporation must impose water charges on all house-owners in the city, feels a World Bank team , in the city recently to study its water supply and drainage problems. The bank will privide a grant, to improve water supply and the drainage system. The civic authorities had proposed to imtroduce water charges on house-owners, but the proposal was shelved after some CPI-M leaders objected to it.
