The different afforestation projects being run by the State government have generated employment opportunities equivalent to 1 crore mandays so far. During the last three years of the projects, which included preservation and conservation of forests as well as rural development, an amount of Rs 70 crore was spent on providing new sources of income to tribals and rural population, the official sources said at Bhopal.
