World Bank to lend $4 bn to Indian water sector

World Bank has announced its decision to step up by five times its lending for water-related projects to $4 billion in the next four years. "The World Bank will increase water lending to India from $200 million a year to about $1 billion a year for the next four years', World Bank's senior water advisor for the South Asia John Briscoe said.
