World forest reserves dwindling

WWF report : More than ten per cent of the world's forest reserves have been squandered in the last decade, a recent report by the World Wide Fund for Nature says. "The world has lost 10 per cent of its forests, 30 per cent of marine life and above 40 per cent of freshwater resources", the Joint Director of the Zoological Survey of India, Mr. S.K. Mitra, said at a function held to celebrate Wildlife Week.
