There are one billion unemployed people in the world, while 80 per cent of the working population do not have access to the basic social protection mechanisms, International Labour Orgnisation (India), director Mary Johnson said here on Tuesday. Stating that the globalisation had failed to create suitable job opportunities, Ms Johnson regretted that "proper infrastructure is not being created to withhold the impact of globalisation."
