World Tourism Day celebrated

Mr Jagmohan Singh Kang, Minister for Tourism and Animal Husbandry, today inaugurated a function to mark World Tourism Day. It was celebrated by the District Administration in collaboration with the Tourism Department, Punjab, at Aam Khas Bagh, Sirhind. Mr Ashok Sharma, Chairman, Punjab Tourism, presided over the function. Mr Kang said tourism was an upcoming industry and was becoming quite popular these days as big industrial and business houses were shifting towards this industry. He said that Punjab had much chance of attracting tourists and developing its tourism industry as the state had many historical, religious and other heritage places.
