The Water resources Organisation(WRO) of the PWD has devised an approach where those displaced by land acquisition schemes under the water Resources Consolidation Project (WRCP) will participate in the programmes for their own rehabilitation. A consultant has been appointed for helping the Special Land Acquisition and Economic Rehabilitation Officer (SLAERO) to initiate and sustain a process of participative rehabilitation by identifying the stake-holders - project-affected persons (PAPs), beneficiaries, NGOs and the Government. All of them will be involved in restoring and sustaining the livelihood and quality of life for PAPs in the scheme areas. The main aim of the participatory approach is to empower the PAPs to have a say in their rehabilitation.
