The WWF has launched a $1.5 million conservation programme to assist agencies working to protect tigers. Agencies evolving sound management systems to protect this species, its habitat and prevent poaching are eligible for assistance under the programme. The programme also envisages support to initiatives to reduce man-animal conflict and increasing awareness to achieve this object.
