Yet another eco-threat to Taj Trapezium

Thousands of trees lining the Agra-Firozabad Road, have been brutally felled to make way for a six channel highway, to link Delhi with Kanpur. The trees provided a green buffer between the Taj Mahal, a few kilometers west and polluting glass industries in the Firozabad-Shikohabad cluster. No satisfactory accounts are available of the number of trees killed, nor is anyone trying to explain what measures have been taken to restore ecological balance in the sensitive Taj Trapezium zone.
