ZP nod for Rs 42 cr drinking water project

DH News Service,Chikmagalur: An action plan of Rs 4,247.40 lakh for rural drinking water project was approved by the Zilla Panchayat on Tuesday during the general Body meeting held under the presidentship of ZP Chief Chandramma Manjunath. The plan will receive a sum of Rs 712.53 lakh from Rural Connectivity Scheme and Rs 806 lakh will be provided under 12th Finance Programme. Under the Rural Connectivity Scheme, 30 projects in Chikmagalur taluk at Rs 88.80 lakh, 80 projects in Kadoor at Rs 290.60 lakh, 34 projects in Koppa at 46.02 lakh, 25 projects in Mudigere at 78.68 lakh, 23 projects in NR Pura at Rs 25.75 lakh, 7 projects in Shringeri at Rs 23.80 lakh and 70 projects in Tarikere at Rs 159 lakh have been included in the plan. Certain works mentioned in the action plan during the last year have not yet been started. Hence, Members Sathi Sundaresh and Savita Ramesh urged the President to order the officials to complete the works at the earliest this year. For drinking water programmes, a sum of s 850 lakh has been allotted for Chikmagalur taluk, Rs 998.25 for Kadoor taluk, Rs 288.45 for Koppa taluk, Rs 931 for Mudigere taluk, Rs 366.60 for N R Pura, Rs 159 lakh for Shringeri, Rs 654 lakh for Tarikere. The House also decided to form hobli level works inspection committees.
